Winning this scholarship means the world to me. Despite working three jobs during my time in college, it has always been hard to afford my payments. This scholarships will go a long way in helping me to afford my final semester of college, and it also shows that even though I faced a tough challenge in Bhutan, I was able to take an awful experience and use it for something good.
After I graduate, I hope to teach English abroad for a few years in order to travel and explore the world. As a triple major in Women's and Gender Studies, International Relations, and German Studies. I would like to pursue a career later on that allows me to work with women, children, and families on an international level.

I'm completely over the moon to have been awarded as the winner of the 2013 BrokerFish Scholarship Program!! Thanks!
The study abroad program that I have been accepted to is the Marine Resources Management Studies program in the Turks and Caicos Islands for the Fall 2013 semester. The focus of the program is to monitor the marine habitats of South Caicos Island and to prevent negative change to the environment, this involves identifying marine organisms and habitats, monitoring conditions of coral reefs, trying to balance economic needs with fisheries management and monitoring the effects of tourism.
Overall, the Turks and Caicos would provide a useful basis for my career goals, would give me valuable research experience and would be a source for experience with wildlife conversation. I can't wait!!
