After submitting an application BrokerFish will follow up with the insurer to have it processed the soonest and get back to you with any feedback as we are able to.
The insurer can provide you a few feedback responses, which include:
The majority of applications will be approved. Once approved, your coverage will begin on the policy start date and the insurer will shortly send your insurance certificate PDF.
Many applications require terms to be associated with them to be approved. These can include a policy exclusion, a premium surcharge or both. The insurer will ask you to confirm you agree to the conditions for them to approve the application, but note you can appeal a condition after being covered for a period of time, e.g. for a two-year period.
Often an insurer requires further information such as a medical report relating to past medical treatment in order to correctly assess the application. This is a standard process and it should be straight forward for you to obtain your medical notes from your past medical provider to help your insurer quickly process your application.
If your application is denied it is not the end of the world. There may be another insurer which can accept you OK and BrokerFish can help you get covered with another insurer instead.
